  6. CARTER: His lieutenant was gunned down this morning. First thing Elias did was get his bodyguards paroled to watch his man in the hospital. At least he's loyal.

Alright here we are!! Some more posters!

Really loved the whole chess scene between Finch and Elias this past episode, and how Elias explained his situation using chess pieces, and how well Finch understood. afdskjdf. Overall I really liked this one point right here, because it’s just such a great shot in my opinion. :D

Anywho, I wish there was a way to get these in a higher resolution, but at the time I am not able to achieve it right now. But these are big enough for most portable devices lock screens/wallpapers, and just cool to look at and all.

Here We Go Again: Carl Elias

We first met this villain of Person of Interest in Witness.  We first thought he was a school teacher, admired by his students and John spent the whole episode trying to get the both of them out of an old apartment building safely.  Only to find out that he was an up and coming mob boss with some mommy and daddy issues.

Elias is my absolute favourite villain of POI.  Enrico doesn’t play him the way every Italian crime boss is normally played, he was nothing like his half brother, or Zombrano (sp.) or Basile, or the others. but he plays him in a cool understated, but will still have his dude cut your head off kind of way.  

what i also love about him is we understand his motivations.  we see that he suffers from the fact that his mother was brutally killed.  and what makes it worse is his own father ordered the hit on her.  of course he didn’t know this until he got older and until he did, he sought his father’s love,he sought his father’s approval.  

when Moretti ordered the hit on him and he escaped, it was there that he decided to become bigger and better than his father.  he wanted to prove that his father was wrong about him.  in flesh and blood as he sat beside Moretti on the bed i couldn’t help but think that after all these years he still wanted his father’s approval.  he told him what he planned to do. how he wanted to unite the families.  ”I’m going to do what you never could.”  is what he said.  his father’s reply.  ”That’s some plan for a nobody.”

i think what hurt Elias the most is that his father wouldn’t even acknowledge him as a son.  i think that’s what he wanted most.  and that is why even as a bad guy who locked Leila up in a freezer truck or who sent Scarface to kidnap Taylor or who set the hit out on Carter, I can still sympathize with him.  because i know what drives him.

it doesn’t mean i think he’s right.  but i understand what his motivations are.

Despite some of the awful things he’s done (refrigerator truck, anyone?), Elias is still my favorite villain on the show.  He’s dangerous in a very understated way, and of the villains we’ve met so far he’s the one who seems the most real to me (plus he’s got a really cool henchman).  His motivations (though wrong) are understandable and also somewhat sympathetic.  He’s extremely fun to watch interact with both John and Harold; there’s this amazing undercurrent of respect, distrust, and admiration between all of them that I find fascinating.  They don’t trust each other, but they do respect one another as adversaries and I love it.  I hope the writers keep him around for a long time.

So I just re-watched S1 Ep6 - The Fix and I couldn’t help to notice something …

There is this scene at the end, were Carter finds Ex-Detective Sullivan dead in his flat and then runs after the shooter, grazing him with a bullet. Some of the shooters blood is left on the wall outside the building and Carter sends it for DNA testing to find out who the guy was.

Now what I noticed is, that the guy running down the stairs shooting at Carter (Pic 1) doesn’t look like this guy in the slightest …

He also moves way more swift and efficient than we’ve seen of the Carl Elias we got to know. In fact he has much more in common with this guy …

And I thought well, yea, would make sense for Elias to send his henchmen, but then in S1 Ep9 Carter gets back the DNA results and they confirm that it is in fact Carl Elias the son of the Don and Marleen Elias!    

The immediate question that presented itself to me was (of course):

Could Scarface be the real Elias?

That would at least explain why he is still that powerful even after his arrest and also why Scarface (though he normally sticks around “Elias”) wasn’t present when “Elias” was taken into custody.

But it would also really fuck with my mind if it was true, so someone prove me wrong?

Young Carl Elias really looks more like Scarface, doesn’t he?

Ever since we saw young Elias, I thought that he looked like Scarface more than anything!

Ugh, that would be one of the biggest plot twists omg

This would be a great plot twist, wonder if that’s what they have in mind. Though I do like the current Elias we know, but it’d keep the show interesting.
